In the final days of construction,
Before any scrolls had been organized and catalogued
on the shelves,
Armies of Humans were racing to put the final touches
On the brand new building.
In the Great Rotunda,
At the centre of the Wheel of Wisdom,
I observed a mosaicist
Placing the final piece of his puzzle
Into the navel of the Floor.
And I heard a voice
Calling from within the dome of my head,
Saying:
‘Tis a storytelling
glass-catcher
Whose talent for text and colour
Is best eXpressed through his skills
As a Groutliner.
