The answer, Fairy, is “Text”. Text is a magnificent medium well-suited to just such an eXpository purpose. Text (such as the $T you’re currently reading) is made up of about seventy or 80 frequently repeated Glyphs that work in concert to create rivers of narrative meaning. Glyphs, when arranged into Text, are extremely fun and boring to read, but in general have little need or desire to fraternize with the actual PleasureBomb hanging silently nearby. (Although stray Glyphs have been known to appear in and among some of the Pieces, Glyphs as a community much prefer to socialize only with themselves. This may go some way toward eXplaining why Glyphs are some of the most feared and distrusted and maligned of all of Humankind’s most eXalted art-forms.)
When swimming in “Text,” a lucky reader will come to understand that Text can be sculpted into three main forms: Prose, Poem, and Nonsense. Each of these traditions adheres to a strict set of rules, all of which may be broken at any Time. For instance, many of the Didactic Texts in OPTIMYTHIC are shaped into Poem, while only a few, including this one, are Prose. Only about 100% of the Didactic Texts are simultaneously Nonsense, especially when put before the eyes of a Human who cannot read.
Some of the best art eXhibitions in history made little use of either Poem or Prose, because, quite frankly, the concept of putting any kind of writing on a wall as a way to contextualize a nearby piece of art on the same wall is a bit ridiculous. Ancient audiences would have likely gasped in horror when faced with such typografical Nonsense.
